NITDA Digital Literacy And Skill Training 2021

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in accordance with the Digital Literacy and Skills pillar of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria (NDEPS), is launching the Digital States Initiative, a nationwide Digital Literacy and Skills Program for Nigerians.

The Digital States program, which is one of NDEPS’s implementation strategies, aims to provide Nigerian youth with the essential digital literacy skills to aid the country’s transition to the digital economy. The plan aims to teach around 540 youngsters from each of the Federation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. Around 20,000 Nigerians are projected to profit from the project.

Registration for the NITDA Digital Literacy And Skill Training Program’s second phase began on Monday, 7 June 2021, and ends on Sunday, 18 June 2021. Katsina, Kaduna, Borno, Bauchi, Niger, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Oyo, Imo, Bayelsa, and Abia are the beneficiary states for the second phase. The future phases’ schedules will be announced in due course.

  • Digital Marketing: To improve sales of digital entrepreneurs in their new or already existing businesses.
  • Productivity Tools: To increase the productivity of students and employees at school and work.
  • Content Creation: To enable the creation of content to promote online businesses especially on social media platforms.
Training Objectives
  • To empower youths with intermediate digital skills that will be needed to drive the digital economy transformation in Nigeria.
  • To empower youths with globally required and marketable skills to increase their employment opportunities.
  • To increase the number of industry-ready IT professionals in Nigeria
