The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Scholarships for Undergraduates and Higher Diploma Students 2022

Applications for the 2022 Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Scholarship are now open. The scholarship initiative focuses on advancing education in Northern Nigeria by providing financial support to 200 eligible undergraduates and Higher National Diploma students of Northern Nigerian descent each year at approved public institutions and polytechnics in Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria| Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Scholarship

• Admission offered to a full-time degree or HND program at a public university or polytechnic
• Satisfy the minimal registration requirements of the institution and the department or faculty as a full-time student.
• Credit for not more than two sittings of five “O”level papers, including English and Mathematics.
• Applicants for the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Scholarship must be a native of one of Northern Nigeria’s 19 states or the Federal Capital Territory (Evidence of State of Origin will be required).
• Must be under 25years on the day of admission to the university or polytechnic.

NOTE: achieving these eligibility criteria does not guarantee a scholarship grant, contingent on availability and the student’s ranking in the selection process. Any fabrication of information at any level will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.

Benefit

Each selected candidate will get a scholarship for the duration of an academic session. It will be renewed once awarded, subject to a minimum “CGPA equivalent of Second-Class Lower Division” for university students and “Upper Credit” for polytechnic students.

Applications are invited from qualified and successful Northern State applicants who have been admitted to the 100 level (through JME), 200 level (by Direct Entry) for Degree and HND 1 programs in the 2020 / 2021 academic session and have begun their studies.

Application Procedure

Applicants interested in the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Scholarship can send their applications to: [email protected] providing the following documentation

• 3 passport photographs (each measuring 2 inches x 2 inches)
• Certificate of State of Origin/Indigenization
• Birth Certificate
• JAMB Certificate
• JAMB examination result
• Original copy of admission letter from JAMB and the Institution
• Evidence of fee payment and faculty/departmental registration
• Valid Student Identification Card
• WAEC or NECO senior secondary school examination result(s)
• Semester result(s)
• A letter of reference from a community leader
• Completed Parent/Guardian Attestation Form B
• Personal contact details (including email address)
• Alternative phone numbers
• Contact details of Next of Kin (including email address)

NOTE:

• Candidates must apply online.
• Applications that are incomplete will not be processed.
• Only those who have been shortlisted will be contacted.
• Successful candidates’ names will be published in a national daily newspaper and on the Foundation’s website.
• Applicants who have previously received scholarships through other programs will not be considered.
