University of Ottawa Undergraduate African Scholarships 2024

Applications for the University of Ottawa Undergraduate African Scholarships 2024 are now open. The University of Ottawa is proud of the diversity of its international student body. International students from African nations who are admitted in the Fall 2024 term (September start date) or later with an admission average of 80% or higher, who are studying in English, and who enroll in one of the designated undergraduate programs in the faculties of engineering, science, or social sciences are eligible for this renewable scholarship.

Depending on the program each year, these substantial financial contributions to their education cut their tuition costs by $17,500 to $25,000 for excellence scholarships and by $12,000 to $20,000 for admission scholarships. Upon enrollment, this grant will be immediately awarded to all qualifying students. It will be directly deducted from their tuition costs.

Note that the Excellence Scholarship for African Students Studying English cannot be used in conjunction with the Entrance Scholarship. One of the most generous scholarship programs in Canada is ours. It honors your academic success not only in high school but also in each term of full-time university studies. Several experimental programs in three faculties will be accessible to African students studying in English through the new scholarship at a drastically discounted tuition rate.

Scholarships for excellence are granted through a competitive selection process. They are awarded to the top candidates with an admission average of 90% or above. To qualify, applicants need to submit their admission applications by April 1, 2024, and ensure that their admissions are processed before April 15, 2024. Candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa will be favoured. Recipients must start their program in September. Insofar as possible and to maximize diversity, each faculty will award the same number of scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria: University of Ottawa Undergraduate African Scholarships

All eligible students for the University of Ottawa Undergraduate African Scholarships are considered and will be notified at the time of their admission. Although there is no application process for this award, recipients will be asked to submit proof of citizenship of a country or territory in Africa before receiving their first installments.

  1. be an international student with a valid study permit;
  2. have citizenship from one of the countries in Africa;
  3. be enrolled full-time; and
  4. For the Entrance scholarship: have an admission average of 89.99% or lower once converted in our grading scale
  5. For the Excellence scholarship: have an admission average of a minimum of 90% once converted in our grading
    scale.
  6. be newly admitted in one of the following undergraduate programs offered in English or with the French Immersion
    option:

• Engineering: Civil Engineering; Chemical Engineering
• Social sciences: Sociology; Anthropology; International Development and Globalization; Conflict Studies; Public Administration
• Sciences: All programs except the Honours BSc in Biochemistry / BASc in Chemical Engineering; Honours BSc in Physics/BASc in Electrical Engineering; and Honours BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology
