Eligibility Criteria| AYuTe Africa Challenge for Nigerian Entrepreneurs
- You must be aged 18-35 by the closing day of submission to the AYuTe Nigeria challenge.
- Be a young person with creative ideas that emphasize the agriculture sector.
- Possesses concepts that have been demonstrated to be effective at resolving social issues and are implementable, technically feasible, financially sound (affordable), and environmentally sound (eco-friendly).
- Possess a valid form of identification proving Nigerian nationality, such as a permanent voter’s card or international passport.
- Create the project’s financial statements.
- The founder or co-founder of the business entered in the competition, and actively participate in its management and operations.
- You must have no prior convictions for any crimes such as felony, tax evasion, financial impropriety, or corruption.
- The ability to collaborate and form partnerships with other parties or stakeholders
- The company must have:
- An identifiable technological innovation that addresses the following problems for smallholder farmers:
- Smallholder farmer productivity
- Smallholder farmer income
- Labour intensiveness of operations
- Resilience
- Access to information
- Strong competitive advantage
- Adherence to pertinent national policies and international agreements (e.g., SDGs)
- Possibility of generating jobs and lowering poverty
- Scalability and the capacity to influence a large number of smallholder farmers, including documented proof of an impact on their operations or income.
Benefit
The AYuTe Africa Challenge will offer the following benefits to successful candidates:
- For the top five finalists, personalized coaching and mentoring will be provided to translate training into business implementation.
- At different stages of the challenge, technical support is provided to strengthen the MVP and the startup’s business and financial model.
- Links to resources for money and investment
- Opportunities for networking with investors and other stakeholders to present your solution.
- A total of $20,000 in cash will be given to the top three winners as prizes:
- Winner: $10,000
- First Runner-Up: $6,000
- Second Runner-Up: $4,000
