The IEG Fellowships for Doctoral Students 2022 is now inviting applications from qualified international students and German students for its research opportunity in Germany.

About the IEG Fellowships

PhD students from Germany and abroad with at least a Master’s degree in history, theology, or another historical discipline are eligible for IEG Fellowships.

They must have been working on their doctorate for no longer than three years when they applied for the fellowship, though exceptions may be made in unusual circumstances.

Benefit
  • IEG Fellowships for doctoral students cover the entire cost of the research project and are worth € 1,350 per month.
  • Fellowship holders who bring their partners to Mainz and do not earn more than 450 euros per month may be eligible for a family allowance. Please indicate whether your partner will accompany you to Mainz in your application.
  • Fellows bringing their minor children to Mainz can apply for a child allowance.
