The Italian Ministry of foreign affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is pleased to announce that the Italian Government MAECI Scholarship is seeking applications from International postgraduate students for the academic session 2022/23 to promote international cooperation in the cultural, scientific, and technological fields, to promote Italian language and culture, and to support Italy’s economic system worldwide.

Eligibility Criteria for the MAECI Scholarship
The list of eligible foreign countries can be found on the website “Study in Italy”: https://studyinitaly.esteri.it/en/call-for-procedure. Summarily, the eligibility conditions are as follows:
Academic qualifications: Only foreign and Italian students living abroad (IRE)* with the appropriate academic qualifications required to enroll in an Italian university or institute may apply.
Age requirements: With the exception of renewals, applicants for Master’s Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programs/Italian Language and Culture advanced Courses must have reached the age of majority and must not be older than 28 years and 364 days by the deadline of this call (June 9th2022).
Language proficiency: In order to enroll in an Italian-taught or English-taught course, the candidate must show proof of proficiency in the language of instruction for the course.
Benefit
- Grantees may be exempt from paying enrollment and tuition fees, depending on each University’s policy and the regulations governing academic institutions’ autonomy.
- In the event of illness or accident, grantees will be covered by MAECI’s health and medical insurance.
- A MAECI scholarship winner will receive 900 euros per month, paid quarterly to their personal current account.
