As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) aims to provide Niger Deltans with pertinent training and skills essential for their active engagement in the Federal Government’s Local Content program, while also enabling them to compete proficiently in a global scale across diverse professional domains.

NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarships Courses
Eligibility Criteria

The NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarships are open to applicants who have:

  • First degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a Master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized university.
  • Applicants must have gained admission for a postgraduate Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines above, in a foreign University.
  • Applicants enrolled in universities abroad are not eligible to apply.
  • Guarantor’s written consent of good conduct from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
    • Member of National Assembly/State House of Assembly
    • Chairman of the LGA
    • First Class Traditional Ruler
    • High Court Judge
  • Persons with evidence of cult membership or a criminal record shall not be considered for the award.
  • Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).
  • You must be an indigene of one of the following states; Niger Delta states in Nigeria, which include Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Cross River State, Delta State, Edo State, and Rivers State.

Application Procedure

Applicants interested in the NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarships will provide the following documents to apply

  • Recent passport photograph
  • Local Government Identification Letter
  • Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university. Relevant degrees from recognized Universities.
  • NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
  • Relevant degrees from recognized universities 
  • Applications must be made online at the Commission’s website: (www.nddc.gov.ng) with all the required documents.
  • A complete application form will be assigned a registration number automatically.
  • Print the hard copy of the online generated acknowledgement for ease of reference.
  • All shortlisted applicants will be posted on the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng)
