About the Mastercard Transforming Nigerian Youths Program
The Transforming Nigerian Youths program intends to build a network of
entrepreneurial and managerial changemakers, focusing on youths and
women in Nigeria’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector,
with a particular focus on those in Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna states.
The Young Africa Works Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with the
Enterprise Development Centre at Pan Atlantic University is bringing this
initiative to Nigeria.

In Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna states, EDC is partnering with the Foundation to develop the capacity of 40,000 MSMEs, with a special focus on agricultural and creative industries, particularly women-led companies.
The training will be offered through EDC’s online learning platform and IVR (Interactive Voice Response), allowing all learners to participate in the lessons while on the road.
Transforming Nigerian Youths Program Objectives
- To completely transform the mindset of youths in Nigeria to become more entrepreneurial, and to equip them to be self-employed or job creators.
- To create market access and provide support services to existing business owners especially those being run by young people.
- Change the way learning or information is received in Nigeria through EDC Beam.
