AR/VR Africa Pre-hackathon training: The AR/VR Africa Pre-hackathon training program is designed to help participants improve their XR skills. Anyone who signs up will have access to specially selected educational materials on the Discord server as well as XR professionals who will mentor them and conduct master classes and workshops. They will also conduct instructor-led XR classes from September through November 2022.
AR/VR Africa Hackathon: the AR/VR Africa Hackathon is a competition and chance for Africans to learn about, use, and create with augmented and virtual reality. The hackathon is entertaining, brisk, difficult, and extremely rewarding. Working on project ideas with programmers, designers, strategists, and enthusiasts lets you compete for rewards. The hackathon is a hybrid event where you will apply your XR expertise to develop solutions for issues that Africans face on a daily basis. You can take part in the hackathon both offline and online. You can attend one of the 16 In-Person 48 Hour Hackathons taking place across Africa. The 2022 hackathons will be held online and offline in November and December.
AR/VR Africa Bootcamp: First-place teams in the various countries/country groups of the 2022 AR/VR Africa Hackathon will have the chance to take part in our Bootcamp. An intensive three-month virtual program called the AR/VR Africa Bootcamp will help the teams advance their solutions. Teams will receive financial and technical support to develop their MVPs, as well as a structured curriculum based on the start-up equation, led by industry experts. A Demo Day where teams will present their solutions to investors will round out the event. The 2022 verticals will be represented by a variety of extended reality solutions that they will present. Teams are anticipated to successfully apply for incubator and accelerator programs following the Bootcamp.
