At the Nelson Mandela Foundation Dialogue and Advocacy Fellowship, the individual is regarded as someone who not only contributes to public debate, but also sees research as a verb in the sense that they are committed to turning their ideas into practical results. They’re searching for someone who can take initiative, network, and meaningfully connect with stakeholders. They must use appropriate empirical evidence from both South Africa and other parts of the world wherever possible. They must be able to implement any solutions or projects they offer in their own communities.

The remuneration for this position is R30 000 a month, with a R1 000 data and airtime allowance.
