Call for Application: Ecobank Fintech Challenge for Africans 2022

Applications for the 2022 Ecobank Fintech Challenge are open. The challenge is a pan-African innovation competition and business partnership sponsored by Ecobank with the aim of extending the reach of cutting-edge Fintech and banking-related products. It is created to inspire, support, and partner with African Fintechs.

The Ecobank Fintech Challenge identifies and partners with Fintechs that are ready to scale, and it provides them with support and access to opportunities in Ecobank’s 33 African markets. The goal is to help them grow as potential Pan African Fintech success stories.

Eligibility Criteria| Ecobank Fintech Challenge

• The fintech challenge is open to all Fintechs with an Africa-focused or Africa-relevant product.
• These products must address one or more of the following pain points:
  • Customer experience
  • Financial inclusion
  • Credit scoring
  • Ecosystem Aggregation
  • Internal tools
  • Payments
  • Any other relevant product categories

Benefit

As a finalist, you will be inducted as an Ecobank Fintech Fellow and will have the opportunity to explore the following opportunities:

• A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue integration with Ecobank and potentially launch products in over 30 African markets served by Ecobank.
  The overall winner will receive a $50,000 cash prize.
  Ecobank may select start-ups as local country-level partners in any of Ecobank’s 33 country ecosystems.
• Fellows will be given access to a dedicated team to support Ecobank’s API testing to enable them to improve their products for the pan-African market.
• Founders will be inducted as Ecobank Fintech Fellows, gaining access to and relationships with a large network of global and African accelerators, potential investors, and mentors.
• The Challenge provides fintechs with the opportunity to potentially integrate with Ecobank’s existing digital offerings. Ecobank Omni, Ecobank electronic financial supply chain (eFSC), Ecobank Xpress, Ecobank Mobile APP or USSD, MasterPassTM QR, mVISATM & mCash, and other digital offerings are already available. They would like applicants to pitch how their solutions can add value to these existing Ecobank digital offerings
