About the YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program
The United States government launched the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) as a hallmark endeavor to invest in the next generation of African leaders who will define the future of African business and entrepreneurship, civil society leadership, and public sector administration.

Eligibility Criteria
The YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program is based on merit and is open to young West Africans who meet the qualifications listed below:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of application, and are citizens or permanent residents of one of the following countries: Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, or Burkina Faso.
Not citizens or permanent residents of the United States - Eligible for any required visa to Ghana, and
- Fluent in English reading, writing, hearing, and speaking.
Benefit
If you are chosen to participate in the YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program, the program will cover all of the following expenses:
- Visa for Ghana (if required)
- Round-trip airfare from your home country* to Accra, Ghana
- All non-Ghanaian participants will be transported from Kotoka International Airport to the YALI Regional Leadership Center, West Africa – Accra.
- Transportation to and from the YALI Regional Leadership Center, West Africa – Accra will be provided from your place of residence for Ghanaians.
- Individualized academic and leadership training;
- During the course, there is an accident and sickness benefit plan.
- Meals and lodging
