The Queen Elizabeth Engineering Prize (QEPrize) is pleased to announce to the general public the opening of nominations for the 2023 cohort, which will honor a wide range of engineering breakthroughs from all fields of the profession.

About the Queen Elizabeth Engineering Prize

The Queen Elizabeth Engineering Prize (QEPrize) is an award given every two years to engineers who have produced technology or innovations that are helping to solve the world’s numerous problems. Engineers are also encouraged to assist push the frontiers of what is feasible across all disciplines and applications as part of the award.

The £500,000 prize is the world’s most distinguished engineering honor, given to about five engineers who have created a bold, ground-breaking engineering invention that will benefit the entire globe.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The Queen Elizabeth Engineering Prize is for engineers who have brought advancements to the engineering profession
  • Applicants must demonstrate how their ideas have addressed global societal concerns.
  • Successful applicants must agree to serve as ambassadors for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.
Application Procedure

Nominations for the Queen Elizabeth Engineering Prize should be submitted through the nomination portal.

Applicants must explain how the suggested innovation meets the judging requirements, identify the engineer or engineers responsible for the innovation, and offer two qualified referees to support the candidacy.

If you have limited information on innovation but think it to be groundbreaking and to have already demonstrated great benefit to humanity, provide such information as the information will be used to conduct additional research into the suggestion’s suitability and, if necessary, to prepare a complete nomination.
