Applications for the DAAD/MIPLC Masters Scholarship are ongoing. The Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) is a component of the DAAD’s Development-Related Postgraduate Courses scholarship program, which aims to assist students from developing countries in pursuing and achieving their educational goals.

In order to be eligible for the DAAD/MIPLC Masters Scholarship you must:
- Have a four-year Bachelor’s degree (or a three-year Bachelor’s degree plus another degree) with above-average grades.
- Have not received their most recent degree more than six years ago.
- Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in a developing country in a public authority, state, or private company (university staff and academics are generally not taken into account). To meet this requirement, the candidate must have completed the two years by the time the program begins in October. In any case, the experience must have come after you finished your first university degree.
- Have English test results that meet MIPLC requirements (see scholarship website)
Benefit
- The MIPLC will provide the scholarship recipient(s) with a full tuition waiver.
- The DAAD will pay a monthly stipend of EUR 750.00 to the scholarship recipient(s).
In most cases, the scholarship also includes payments for health, accident, and liability insurance coverage in Germany. - Furthermore, unless these costs are covered by the home country or another funding source, the DAAD will generally pay an appropriate travel allowance.
- In addition, the DAAD will provide a study and research allowance.
- The scholarship covers a two-month German course required before beginning the MIPLC LL.M. program.
NOTE: The scholarship does not cover any additional costs, such as enrollment fees or the cost of a semester bus pass in Munich

- Determine whether you are qualified to apply under DAAD and MIPLC standards, bearing in mind that where MIPLC and DAAD requirements differ, the stricter requirements take precedence.

- Apply for MIPLC admission (please refer to the How to Apply page).
- When you reach the end of the online application form, check the box that says “I would like to apply for the DAAD scholarship” and fill out the MIPLC Financial Assistance Application Form that appears automatically (please refer to the Financial Assistance Application Instructions).
- Print the forms and attach all required documentation according to the instructions.
- Download and fill out the DAAD/MIPLC Masters Scholarship, as well as any additional documents required by the DAAD (please refer to the DAAD brochure; NB: the MIPLC does not require a research proposal). Even if a document, such as your CV, is required by both MIPLC and DAAD, you only need to submit one copy.
- Ensure your file is complete, including all three application forms (MIPLC application form for admission, MIPLC application form for financial support, and DAAD application form for the scholarship) and all required documents. Otherwise, your application will be rejected. Please keep in mind that we only require the original application package; no additional copies are required.
- Make duplicates of all application materials. If you are awarded the scholarship, you must submit electronic copies of these documents to the DAAD’s system.
- Send your application directly to the MIPLC, unless you are from Cameroon, in which case you must go through the German Embassy in your home country. Your complete file must be received by the MIPLC by October 15 of the year preceding the start of the program.
