Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship

The Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship is a scholarship for Nigerian undergraduate students. The group intends to sponsor 20 students for the course of the academic year in various fields.

The scholarship board announced its annual contributions of two million naira to Nigerian students in 2018. The scholarship board has consistently approved 20 candidates from various universities to be placed on the merit list.

Each year, a student will be awarded N100,000 as a one-time scholarship that will not be renewed. Nonetheless, you must complete certain standards as stated by the board in order to be awarded the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

For you to be eligible for the Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship, you need to meet the following requirements.

  • Be a full-time student currently enrolled in any higher institution in Nigeria.
  • Have a good academic result.
  • The applicant must be from a low economic background.
  • All courses in Universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnic are eligible for the scholarship.

The Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship will offer scholarships to 20 Nigerians worth N100,000 each.

Application Procedure

To apply for Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship each year, the applicant must submit their application letter of not more than 2 pages to the scholarship board office. The scholarship board office is located in Abuja, Lagos, and Imo State respectively.

Your letter must first address the scholarship board with your

  • full names,
  • course of study, and your 
  • current year of study.

In addition to that, your letter must as well mention your state of origin and local government of originFor your scholarship letter to stand out from the rest, you must write your letter with correct grammar.

The body of your letter must as well state:

  • Why the scholarship board should choose you for the award.
  • Why you should be preferred based on your need and situation right now.

After you must have written your scholarship letter with all to the end, you need to attach the letter with other documents in an A4 size envelope.

Here are the photocopy documents you need to attach to your scholarship application letter.

  • Candidate’s current identity Card
  • Letter from your head of Department, including correct information on your CGPA for the last academic session.
  • Letter from the Registrar Stated that you are a full-time registered student of the institution.
  • A copy of the course registration form for the current semester; and
  • Two (2) current passport photographs.

How to proceed with Application

You can send your scholarship letter through postal delivery or submit directly at the Scholarship Board office. The scholarship board office for the three mentioned states are as follows:

NOTE:

  • Successful candidates are said to be awarded the Scholarship on September 13, 2021.
  • The scholarship award ceremony will host at the Nigerian Law Publications House, Otunba Jobi Fele- Way, C.B.D., Alausa Ikeja, Lagos at 12.00 Noon.
  • Students who have once won the scholarship are not eligible.
